What Is Brainwave Entrainment?
Brainwave entrainment describes attempts to influence rhythmic brain activity using repeating sensory stimulation such as sound or light.
Where binaural beats fit
With binaural beats, slightly different tones are presented separately to each ear, creating a perceived rhythmic beat. Headphones are therefore central to the classic binaural setup.
What it does not prove
A mechanism or measurable brain response does not automatically establish every wellness, learning, mood or performance claim made around a product. Evidence should be evaluated outcome by outcome.
Why Holosync appears in this topic
Holosync uses audio-based entrainment as part of a structured meditation program. Learn how that differs from standalone binaural beats or read our Holosync overview.
